Crafting Candles: A Journey to Quality

Some products exist because of what their maker was willing to do. Ours exist because of what I was unwilling to accept.

When I set out to rebuild Senseful Crafts, candles were central to the vision. I had worked with a wonderful supplier in the USA years before — someone whose craft I trusted completely. But when I reached out again, I learned she had downscaled and was no longer shipping overseas. That door had quietly closed.

I knocked on others. Many didn’t answer. One supplier was willing to talk — but only on his terms. He wanted beeswax in the blend. Synthetic chemicals too. “This is how it’s done now,” he told me, as if the industry had simply moved on and I should too.

I couldn’t.

Not because I was being difficult, but because I had held pure plant wax candles before. I knew they existed. I knew they were possible. And I knew that Senseful Crafts could never be built on a foundation I didn’t fully believe in.

So I learned to make them myself.

Every candle you find here — from the Batik Tins to the Wisdom Gem collection — is the result of that choice. Sourced with care, poured with intention, and made entirely from plant wax. No beeswax. No synthetics. Nothing hidden.

That’s not a marketing claim. It’s the reason this brand exists at all.

Discover the Unique Mindful Journal: A Gift for Your Soul

I’ve been working on something quietly for a while now, and I’m so glad it’s finally ready to share.

Meet the Mindful Journal.

It’s a simple kraft journal — but what’s inside is anything but ordinary.

Every journal comes with a randomly assigned affirmation quote on the cover and a surprise set of reflection prompts tucked inside. You don’t know which quote you’ll get. You don’t know which prompt set is waiting for you. That’s entirely the point.

I wanted to create something that felt like a little gift from the universe. Something that says: this one is yours.

Why I created this

So many people tell me they want to journal but don’t know where to start. They stare at a blank page and freeze. They feel like they need to write something meaningful, something worthy of the page.

But journalling doesn’t work like that. It works when you show up — imperfectly, honestly, and without pressure.

The Mindful Journal is designed to remove that pressure. The prompts guide you gently. The morning prompt helps you set an intention. The evening prompt helps you close your day. And the general prompts are there for whenever you need a quiet moment to come back to yourself.

No experience needed. No right or wrong answers. Just you, a pen, and a question worth sitting with.

A little lucky draw for your soul

Each journal is unique — the affirmation quote on the cover and the prompt set inside are both randomly assigned. I love that. It feels like the journal finds you, not the other way around.

What’s inside:

  • 📓 A5 kraft journal — 34 lined sheets, 68 pages
  • 🏷️ A surprise affirmation quote on the cover
  • 📄 Journal Insert for guidance – a single sheet which can be used daily until you get the habit of writing without any prompts
  • ☀️ Morning, 🌙 evening & 🌿 general reflection prompts

Available now at S$15 — from the online store and at our upcoming events.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to start journalling, this is it. 🌿

With love,

Esther

We Sponsored Chill Carnival: A Commitment to Wellness

Singapore’s wellness scene is quietly blooming — and Chill Carnival: Festival for the Child Within is exactly the kind of event that reflects this shift.

Organised by Chill By Nette and held at Capitol Singapore on 1 August 2026, Chill Carnival brought together a small, intentional group of participants for 90 minutes of guided rest, play, and inner reconnection. No screens. No rushing. Just space to breathe and remember who you are beneath the busyness.

Senseful Crafts was proud to be a sponsor of this event, contributing our Batik Inspired Motif Tin Candles and Notebooks — specially curated for the Inner Child edition.

Why We Support Events Like This

As a Singapore-based brand rooted in mindful living, we believe in showing up for the local wellness community — not just online, but in real spaces where real connection happens.

Events like Chill Carnival remind us that wellness isn’t a luxury. It’s a return to yourself.

Skincare Tips for Singapore’s Unique Seasons

Although we may not experience winter or snow in Singapore during this time of year, it’s important to recognize that the weather differs from what it was in April or May. We are still affected by the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, albeit in a unique way. During this period, you might notice variations such as more frequent rain, stronger sunlight in certain months, or increased wind in specific areas.

So, how can we maintain our skin condition and health this season?

Skincare Tips and Routines for This Season:

a) Regular Moisturizing: Choose natural, organic products rather than those based heavily on chemicals.

b) Frequency of Moisturizing:

~ For healthy skin, moisturize twice a day.
~ For dry, sensitive, or dehydrated skin, moisturize three times a day (lightly). The key is to be consistent without overdoing it.
~ If you have existing skin conditions and use medical products, consult your healthcare provider to determine if you can mix these with other natural or organic products.

c) If planning a holiday: Continue your moisturizing routine even when travelling abroad.

Additional Tips:

a) Avoid Hot Showers: Keep your shower routine quick and simple.

b) Change Clothes Regularly: If you tend to perspire a lot, change your clothing frequently, especially your innerwear, to prevent fungal infections.

c) Wear Comfortable, Absorbent Fabrics: Choose materials that are gentle on the skin.

d) Stay Warm in Air Conditioning: Wear appropriate outerwear, drink warm fluids, and keep your skin hydrated.

e) Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water, juice, and other healthy beverages.

f) Limit Cold Foods: Consuming cold foods can dampen your digestive system, potentially leading to skin or other health problems.

g) Take Care of Your Facial Skin: Use suitable products to keep your facial skin healthy and moisturized. Don’t forget sunscreen.

h) Prioritize Rest: Ensure you get enough sleep, eat wisely, and enjoy life. By following these tips, you can help maintain the health of your skin during the transitional months.
