Crafting Candles: A Journey to Quality

Some products exist because of what their maker was willing to do. Ours exist because of what I was unwilling to accept.

When I set out to rebuild Senseful Crafts, candles were central to the vision. I had worked with a wonderful supplier in the USA years before โ€” someone whose craft I trusted completely. But when I reached out again, I learned she had downscaled and was no longer shipping overseas. That door had quietly closed.

I knocked on others. Many didn’t answer. One supplier was willing to talk โ€” but only on his terms. He wanted beeswax in the blend. Synthetic chemicals too. “This is how it’s done now,” he told me, as if the industry had simply moved on and I should too.

I couldn’t.

Not because I was being difficult, but because I had held pure plant wax candles before. I knew they existed. I knew they were possible. And I knew that Senseful Crafts could never be built on a foundation I didn’t fully believe in.

So I learned to make them myself.

Every candle you find here โ€” from the Batik Tins to the Wisdom Gem collection โ€” is the result of that choice. Sourced with care, poured with intention, and made entirely from plant wax. No beeswax. No synthetics. Nothing hidden.

That’s not a marketing claim. It’s the reason this brand exists at all.

Discover the Unique Mindful Journal: A Gift for Your Soul

I’ve been working on something quietly for a while now, and I’m so glad it’s finally ready to share.

Meet the Mindful Journal.

It’s a simple kraft journal โ€” but what’s inside is anything but ordinary.

Every journal comes with a randomly assigned affirmation quote on the cover and a surprise set of reflection prompts tucked inside. You don’t know which quote you’ll get. You don’t know which prompt set is waiting for you. That’s entirely the point.

I wanted to create something that felt like a little gift from the universe. Something that says: this one is yours.

Why I created this

So many people tell me they want to journal but don’t know where to start. They stare at a blank page and freeze. They feel like they need to write something meaningful, something worthy of the page.

But journalling doesn’t work like that. It works when you show up โ€” imperfectly, honestly, and without pressure.

The Mindful Journal is designed to remove that pressure. The prompts guide you gently. The morning prompt helps you set an intention. The evening prompt helps you close your day. And the general prompts are there for whenever you need a quiet moment to come back to yourself.

No experience needed. No right or wrong answers. Just you, a pen, and a question worth sitting with.

A little lucky draw for your soul

Each journal is unique โ€” the affirmation quote on the cover and the prompt set inside are both randomly assigned. I love that. It feels like the journal finds you, not the other way around.

What’s inside:

  • ๐Ÿ““ A5 kraft journal โ€” 34 lined sheets, 68 pages
  • ๐Ÿท๏ธ A surprise affirmation quote on the cover
  • ๐Ÿ“„ Journal Insert for guidance – a single sheet which can be used daily until you get the habit of writing without any prompts
  • โ˜€๏ธ Morning, ๐ŸŒ™ evening & ๐ŸŒฟ general reflection prompts

Available now at S$15 โ€” from the online store and at our upcoming events.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to start journalling, this is it. ๐ŸŒฟ

With love,ย

Unlock Wellness: What to Expect in Your Consultation

If you’ve never had a wellness consultation before, you might be wondering โ€” what actually happens? Is it like therapy? A coaching session? Something else entirely?

It’s a fair question. And the honest answer is: it’s a conversation. A real one โ€” and you can have it from wherever you are in the world.

Who You’ll Be Speaking With

My name is Esther, and wellness has been my foundation long before it became my business. I grew up surrounded by healers, and over the years that early immersion led me to train formally across multiple disciplines. I am a certified:

  • Chikara-Reiki-Do Masterย (Usui & Tibetan lineage)
  • Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant ย (American Institute of Vedic Studies)
  • Yoga & Ayurveda Wellness Consultantย (American Institute of Vedic Studies)

I’ve been offering healing sessions and consultations for years โ€” first under Within Senses, and now through Senseful Crafts, where wellness is woven into everything I create.

A Space That’s Just for You

A consultation with me is an unhurried, one-on-one virtual session where we explore where you are right now โ€” physically, emotionally, energetically โ€” and what might help you feel more balanced, grounded, and clear.

There’s no script. No checklist to rush through. We connect online, at your pace, and follow what feels most relevant to you.

What We Might Explore

Depending on what you’re navigating, a session may draw on:

  • Reiki & energy healing โ€” understanding and working with the energy your body holds
  • Ayurvedic principles โ€” how your constitution, lifestyle, and daily rhythms affect your wellbeing
  • Meditation & breathwork โ€” simple, practical tools you can use every day
  • Crystals & intentional rituals โ€” how to bring more meaning and mindfulness into your space and routines

You don’t need to know anything about any of these going in. Curiosity is enough โ€” and distance is no barrier.

Who Is This For?

This is for you if you’ve been feeling:

  • Stuck, scattered, or running on empty
  • Called toward something deeper but not sure where to start
  • Ready to invest in your wellbeing โ€” not just your productivity

All you need is a quiet space and an open mind. The rest, we figure out together.

We Sponsored Chill Carnival: A Commitment to Wellness

Singapore’s wellness scene is quietly blooming โ€” and Chill Carnival: Festival for the Child Within is exactly the kind of event that reflects this shift.

Organised by Chill By Nette and held at Capitol Singapore on 1 August 2026, Chill Carnival brought together a small, intentional group of participants for 90 minutes of guided rest, play, and inner reconnection. No screens. No rushing. Just space to breathe and remember who you are beneath the busyness.

Senseful Crafts was proud to be a sponsor of this event, contributing our Batik Inspired Motif Tin Candles and Notebooks โ€” specially curated for the Inner Child edition.

Why We Support Events Like This

As a Singapore-based brand rooted in mindful living, we believe in showing up for the local wellness community โ€” not just online, but in real spaces where real connection happens.

Events like Chill Carnival remind us that wellness isn’t a luxury. It’s a return to yourself.

Batik Tin Candles: Where Design Meets Intention

Three Senseful Crafts batik tin candles labeled Spice & Amber, Sandalwood & Bergamot, Jasmine & Orchid, one candle lit

Some products are made. Others are meant.

Our Batik Tin Candles started with a simple question: what if a candle could carry intention?

Each tin features an original motif design โ€” created to be as considered as what’s inside. Not just a pretty container, but a deliberate choice: pattern, colour, and form working together to make something worth keeping.

And it goes deeper than aesthetics. Each motif design is intentionally matched to its scent โ€” so the visual and the fragrance tell the same story. What you see on the tin is a reflection of what you’ll smell when you light it.

Inside, plant wax. A slow, clean burn. A scent crafted for your everyday โ€” whether that’s a quiet morning, a focused afternoon, or a moment of stillness at the end of the day.

At SGD 25, they’re designed to be accessible โ€” a small object with a considered presence. Light one. Gift one. Let it do its quiet work.

Small tin. Considered design. Every day.

Embracing Stillness in a Fast-Paced City

Singapore moves at lightning speed. From the morning MRT rush to the constant hum of construction, the glow of screens is everywhere. It’s easy to feel swept away by the current of urban life.

Yet even in the heart of this vibrant city, stillness is possible. Not as an escape from the pace, but as an anchor within it. Stillness isn’t about silence or solitudeโ€”it’s about finding moments of presence and calm amidst the motion.

Why Stillness Matters

In a culture that celebrates productivity, pausing can feel counterintuitive. But stillness isn’t the opposite of actionโ€”it’s the foundation for sustainable living. When we create space for stillness, we reduce stress. We improve our focus. We reconnect with our values. We experience more joy in daily life.

Micro-Moments of Stillness

You don’t need hours of free time. Stillness can be woven into your day through small, intentional practices:

Morning Anchors: Before checking your phone, take three deep breaths. Light a candle and sit with your morning coffee in silence for five minutes. Set an intention for the day.

Commute Contemplation: Instead of scrolling on the MRT, try a simple mindfulness practice. Notice your breath, watch the rhythm of the train, or silently repeat a calming mantra.

Lunch Break Reset: Step away from your desk. Find a quiet corner or nearby park. Use an hourglass timer to dedicate 10 minutes to simply beingโ€”no phone, no task list, just presence.

Evening Wind-Down: Create a transition ritual between work and rest. Light a calming candle, journal for a few minutes, or hold a grounding crystal while reflecting on your day.

Creating Stillness in Your Space

Even in a small HDB flat or busy condo, you can design pockets of calm. Assign a stillness corner with a cushion, candle, and crystal. Use calming scents like lavender or sandalwood to shift the energy. Minimise visual clutter and bring in natural elementsโ€”a plant, stones, or natural textures.

Start Small

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Choose one micro-moment practice and commit to it for a week. Notice how it feels. Over time, these moments accumulate, creating a foundation of calm that supports you through the city’s intensity.

The city will keep moving. The question is: will you move with it mindfully, or be swept along unconsciously?

Choose stillness. Not as an escape, but as a way of being fully here in the life you’re living.

Simple Year-End Rituals for New Beginnings

As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to pause. Reflect on the past months. Set intentions for the year ahead. Year-end rituals help us release what no longer serves us and welcome new beginnings with clarity and purpose.

  1. Create a Reflection Space

Light a candle or burn some incense to create a calm, sacred space. Take time to journal about the past yearโ€”celebrate your wins, acknowledge challenges, and note what you’ve learned.

  1. Release and Let Go

Write down anything you want to release from the past year on paper. This could be limiting beliefs, old habits, or difficult experiences. Safely discard by tearing the paper to pieces as a symbolic act of letting go.

  1. Set Intentions with Crystals

Choose crystals that align with your goals for the new year. Clear quartz for clarity, citrine for abundance, or rose quartz for self-love. Hold them while visualizing your intentions.

  1. Cleanse Your Space

Clear stagnant energy from your home by decluttering, smudging with sage, or using sound healing. A fresh space supports fresh starts.

  1. Plan Your Year Ahead

Use a beautiful journal or planner to map out your goals, dreams, and monthly intentions. Breaking them into smaller steps makes them more achievable.

These simple yet powerful rituals can help you close this chapter with gratitude. They allow you to step into the new year feeling grounded, clear, and ready for what’s to come.
